The Philosophy

I started as a textile maker in 1986.

My first weaving trials with copper thread I started in the beginning of the 1990´s.

The material was wonderfully three dimensional and easily treatable.

When making my diploma work in the University of Art and Design in Helsinki I found my way to the junk yards.

Nowadays i use in my works mainly waste materials in different forms, not to forget copper and steel thread and line.

 Many materials found by chance bring up me mories about events during life and eventually those events shape up to a piece of art.

 The content of the work is very important for me but I try to leave things open also for the viewer so that everybody can create their own story around the work.

Bildende Künstlerin

 Für meine Kunstwerke gebrauche ich viel Abfallmaterial und bereits fertig gestellte Dinge. Ich bearbeite und füge die ausgesuchten Gegenstände jeweils als Teil einer Geschichte zusammen. Dabei soll die ursprüngliche Form oder der herkömmliche Verwendungszweck der benutzten Dinge vollständig aus dem Blick geraten, so dass die Botschaft des Kunstwerkes zur Hauptsache wird.
